Balanced response across every register
A consistent response can make a real difference as you tackle more advanced music. The Prologue Concert uses a polycylindrical bore to create an even, balanced tone throughout its range, helping notes respond consistently as you move between registers.
Precise tone-hole positioning also supports dependable intonation, giving you a solid foundation for ensemble work, practice, and performance. Its grenadilla wood body forms part of an acoustic design focused on easy response and tonal balance. And with the supplied Echo mouthpiece complementing these acoustic qualities, you have a setup designed to produce a rich, colourful, and flexible clarinet sound.
Adjust the support to suit your hand
Your right-hand position can be tailored using the three-axis adjustable thumb rest. Vertical, lateral, and rotational adjustment gives you more control over where the instrument sits, encouraging a natural hand position and improving weight distribution. This positioning also helps you cover the open tone holes securely and reach the right-hand little-finger keys more easily.
Importantly, the design helps prevent you from supporting the clarinet by pressing against its keywork. Adjustment is handled through two screws, with one controlling height and rotation and the other controlling lateral movement. That gives you a straightforward way to personalise the clarinet's support around your hands.
Reach the upper register more comfortably
The Prologue Concert's register key is shaped to make upper-register playing easier and more comfortable. Its redesigned form provides a larger contact area for your thumb, so the key is easier to find and operate as you move around the instrument.
A 45-degree angle encourages a more natural playing position, helping to reduce unnecessary tension while supporting agility. Combined with the adjustable thumb rest, this creates an ergonomic setup aimed at players developing more advanced technique. The result is a clarinet designed to help your hands sit comfortably while giving you practical access to the keys needed for increasingly demanding repertoire.
Complete setup with understated detailing
The Prologue Concert pairs its playing-focused design with a classic, restrained finish. Silver-plated keywork is complemented by a metal ring set into the bell and a mother-of-pearl inlay on the upper joint, adding subtle visual detail without making the instrument overly decorative.
It is made in the Henri SELMER Paris workshops in Mantes-la-Ville, France, with a grenadilla wood body and a high standard of finish. You also receive an Echo mouthpiece, silver-plated ligature, metal mouthpiece cap, swab, and cork grease. A compact case with shoulder strap keeps the clarinet and its accessories together, making rehearsals, lessons, and performances easier to manage.
