At the heart of the LIVEN LoFi-12 is a powerful four-track step sequencer incorporated from the LIVEN XFM unit which provides up to four seconds of mono sampling in 12-bit mode or two seconds of mono sampling at 24kHz. The intuitive interface makes it easy to chop samples, providing all the controls you need to edit the start/end point, pitch adjustment, reverb playback, looping, filtering and even LFO modulation. At its core, the LIVEN LoFi-12 features a 16-bit – 12kHz/24kHz sampling engine with a 12-bit sampler mode that replicates the sound of classic samplers.

Regarded for their unique warmth and gritty character, vintage 12-bit samplers pioneered the Lo-Fi sound which has been the bases for countless hip-hop and EDM classics. When sampling sounds, the LIVEN will automatically assign the sample to the keyboard so it can be played at different pitches. Showcasing its tonal power, the LIVEN LoFi-12 features 80 presets to choose from and incorporate into your creations. One of the most unique features is the 'Laid-Back' knob which is perfect for creating the drunken-style beats that are synonymous with Lo-Fi hip-hop and championed by the likes of J Dilla.

Intuitive controls and studio-grade effects

Whether you're composing at home or taking to the stage, the LIVEN LoFi-12 gives you all the tools and controls you need to create captivating compositions and performances. The 64-step sequencer is perfect for creating beats with real-time recording for quick and easy inputting. For live performances, the LoFi-12 features Sutter, Dice and Random functions to keep things fresh and create ever-evolving sequences. The sequencer also features a transpose and swing function as well as pattern chaining for creating songs.

Add some flavour to your sounds using the wide variety of onboard effects (one per track) including Chorus, Tremolo, Isolator, Tilt EQ, Compressor and more. It also features a selection of Master effects including various reverb types and cassette tape/vinyl simulators. Each track also features an LFO with adjustable shapes so you can affect pitch and filter cutoff with separately adjustable levels. There are also three different filters types with their own filter and envelope comprised of Low Pass, High Pass and Band Pass settings.
