The Erica Synths Graphic VCO is a highly versatile voltage-controlled oscillator with a unique feature – the ability to draw in your own waveforms. When in Basic Mode, this versatile VCO runs in Wave Design made, morphing between waves A and B. Using the encoders, you can draw your waveform in manually, allowing you to customise your sound visually for optimal flexibility. You can morph between them manually or via the Morph CV connection for interesting results. You can also further customise your waveform with the integrated effects. You can either design your own customised waveforms or load standard waveforms and blend between them.
The Wavetable Menu allows you to select between a total of 16 waves from the Banks directory and play them back for morphing capabilities. Using the left encoder, you can navigate through the list of banks, pushing the encoder to select a certain waveform. You can also use the Morph knob to previews how the bank sounds. You can also design your own wavetables for added flexibility. In Wavetable Matrix mode, the wavetables become displayed as a matrix. The rows in the matrix represent the wavetables, with the columns being used for individual waves. You can alter the size of the matrix by using the left encoder and the X and Y under the oscilloscope represent the select wave position.
For versatile sound design capabilities, the Graphic VCO also includes a range of integrated high-quality effects. The FX menu allows you to apply several varied effects on the waves being played. The FX are master setting, applied on the resulting wave before the output. Using the left encoder, you can scroll through the list of effects, with the selected effect appearing in the top left of the screen. The built-in effects are comprised of: Frequency Modulation, Ringmodulator, Phase Distortion, Wavefolder, Wavewrapper, Bitcrush/Sample Rate Reduction and Overdrive. These varying effects can be controlled by the FX amount potentiometer, defining the depth of the effect, acting as a Dry/We control. You can use the varying effects to totally change the style and tone of your waveform, ideal for sound experimentation.
