Two-Channel Tube-Based VCA Compressor

The Tube-Tech LCA 2B Stereo Compressor is perfect for treating vocals, guitars, basses, drums and percussion. The highly versatile tube-based design features an all-tube push-pull amplifier and a built-in side-chain circuit. The LCA 2B utilises a range of tube diodes, designed to provide classic tube warmth that is so sought-after. Included are two ECC 81 selected tubes, two ECC 82 tubes and two ECC 83 tubes. Output gain control is placed between the input transformer and the output stage for optimised audio performance. One of the most unique features is the six attack/release presets. The presets are made using Fairchild time constants, as well as providing manual control for added flexibility. The specialised design means you can also use the unit as a bus compressor.

Independent Compressor & Limiter

The thing that sets the LCA 2B from conventional compressors is the independent compressor and limiter sections. It provides an independent compressor and limiter per channel. The limiter has its own separate on/off switch and LED indicator. This allows you to get most out of the unit, allowing you to limit sounds without having to use the compressor for added versatility. From powerful bus compressor to treating single instrument and voices, the LCA 2B can do it all with ease. The LCA 2B is designed to be the equivalent of high-end compressor, delivering optimal transparency and high frequencies, even when pushed to the max.

Comprehensive Controls

The front-panel features an ergonomic layout with a comprehensive control section. The compressor and limiter controls are located on either side of the unit. The compressor features potentiometers for controlling the variable ratio (1,6:1 to 20:1), variable threshold (Off to -20dBU), attack and release. The attack and release times are continuously variable, allowing you to make changes on the fly. The limiter section features pots for the variable threshold (Off to 0 dBU), attack (0.8ms) and release (0.5sec). Each section features its own LED indicator, the compressor featuring an LED for gain reduction display and the limiter featuring an LED for indication of limiter action.

Vintage Design, Versatile Connectivity

The vintage-style design is reminiscent of compressors from the late 80s, featuring a light blue metallic finish. The unit features integrated rack ears for easy mounting for studio and touring racks. It features retro-style plastic potentiometers and gold-plated switches. The compressor is also linkable for stereo applications and features a clickless in/out relay. You can interconnect of several compressors via two busses. The dual bi-directional link busses for available via the two x ¼-inch stereo jack sockets located on the rear of the unit.
