The Bitwig Roto-Control Motorized MIDI Controller, Bitwig Edition is built for producers, performers, and creators who want tight, hands-on control of their software and hardware setups. This controller offers deep integration with Bitwig Studio across three dedicated modes that streamline mixing, plug-in control, and MIDI mapping.

This controller is designed to offer full control of Bitwig Studio projects through three focused modes. In MIX mode, you can control track volumes and see names and colours update in real time. PLUGIN mode maps each knob and button to devices or third-party plug-ins, and settings are automatically recalled when switching between sessions.
MIDI mode sends standard MIDI and control change data to Bitwig or other gear, expanding its use beyond the software. Each mode is clearly defined and helps you stay locked into your workflow without needing to manually remap or reconfigure your controller.
The eight motorised knobs are built with high-end brushless motors and optical sensors that provide smooth, accurate movement. They are touch-sensitive, so they instantly recall parameter positions as you switch between presets or software instruments. This makes them ideal for fine adjustments in both performance and production contexts.
Haptic feedback adds another layer by providing a physical response to each movement, giving you a clear sense of what changes you have made. Each knob is rated for over 50 million movements, which adds long-term reliability to daily use in the studio or on stage.
Outside of Bitwig Studio, Roto-Control offers complete control of external gear and software through MIDI mode. You can store up to 64 custom setups, with 128 assignable controls available across the knobs and buttons. The unit works without a connected computer, which is useful for standalone live rigs or controlling synths and other MIDI equipment.
MIDI in out and thru connections, along with USB-C, allow the controller to fit into a variety of gear chains. The Roto-Setup app makes it easy to back up or share your custom control layouts across multiple devices or sessions.
The Motion Recorder feature gives you an additional tool for live modulation and parameter movement. You can record changes to up to eight parameters per setup and loop them using different playback modes such as forward, backward, random, and ping-pong.
Step lengths can be set to 16, 32, 48, or 64 steps, allowing for both short rhythmic loops and longer evolving modulations. You can sync Motion Recorder to an internal clock or to external gear for tight integration with your full setup. This feature gives you more room to experiment with automation in real time without needing to manually draw envelopes in your software.
The Bitwig Edition of Roto Control comes with a free software offer, giving you the choice between Bitwig Studio Producer if you’re new to Bitwig, or a free 12 Month Upgrade Plan if you already own Bitwig Studio.
