Shape each layer independently
Pure Sub separates your sound into fundamental, harmonics, and texture stages, giving you focused control over each part of the bass. You can shape the fundamental separately from its upper content, use Pressure and Reese Harmonics modes to develop the timbre, then introduce noise or samples through the texture section. Independent routing gives you further control over how these layers move through processing. You can even remove the fundamental and concentrate entirely on upper-bass material for layering with another bass. It’s a practical setup when you want to build low-end sounds piece by piece rather than treating them as one fixed signal.
Push your bass without losing its foundation
Filtering, distortion, and other heavy processing can alter the amplitude and phase of your fundamental. Sub Regen is designed to tackle that problem by restoring a clean fundamental at practically any point in the processing chain. That means you can experiment more freely with filters and effects while keeping control of the lowest part of your sound. More than 40 filter modes provide plenty of options for reshaping harmonics, while the 33 Sub Processor modes cover distortion, texture, and broader tonal changes. You can push the character hard — then bring a clean sub foundation back where you need it.
Build movement into every bass
Static bass sounds can quickly become more animated using Pure Sub's modulation system. You get three envelopes, including a dedicated pitch envelope, alongside six flexible modulator slots and four macros. Modulation can target parameters across the instrument, including the individual layer levels, engine Morph, and Sub Processor amount. You can also modulate modulation amounts, allowing one control to trigger several related changes. MPE support adds further expressive control from compatible hardware. This flexibility suits evolving wobbles, shifting 808-style sounds, and patches where every triggered note needs slightly different movement without rebuilding the sound each time.
Process and discover sounds quickly
A 12-slot FX rack with 19 effects gives you room to finish your bass without leaving Pure Sub. Filter drive, distortion, and the Maximiser can help bind layers together, while Soft and Hard Maximiser modes provide different approaches to loudness, pumping, and clipping character. Multiple filters can also be loaded into the rack, individually key-tracked, and modulated for more involved movement. When you want a different direction, randomisation can change individual stages including harmonics, texture samples, filter types, Sub Processor modes, macros, and function shapes. There are also 300 presets included, giving you ready-made sounds to use or reshape.
