The LIO-8 enables you to capture audio where ever you may be, be it on the road, in the hotel, or on a plane. If you combine the LIO-8 with the ULN-8, ULN-2 and 2882 you can create a system that meets your needs for track count and preamp power. Adding a unit to the system organically increases the DSP power of the system, so that your DSP always scales with your I/O. You can break your system up for small gigs when playing out or add the units of your mates to build a huge system when required. By standardizing on Mobile I/O, each member of the band can have ultimate quality while working alone, and the band can have huge track counts when playing together. The LIO-8 weighs less than 4 kg and is just bigger than a laptop which makes it easily transportable, no hassle and no packing up after a gig. With plenty of inputs and outputs that provide the perfect character for whatever material you are recording, the LIO-8 also allows you to switch from a wire-with-gain to a gooey tube pre with one click of your mouse.
Metric Halo's LIO-8 features flexible signal routing and sophisticated patch and preset management systems, as well as a set of front panel controls for standalone operation. The LIO-8 functions well as an analog monitor controller, making it ideal as a digital headphone amp and studio monitor controller.
The LIO-8 supports a range of different applications such as it is suitable in a live performance venue as it can play out backing tracks and musical cues as well as operating as a remote recorder for archiving performances. The LIO-8 can also operate as a soft synth mixer and I/O interface, and can benefit sound engineers by providing an efficient yet simple tool for analysis and system venue tuning with SpectraFoo.
The LIO-8 is also great for studio recording thanks to its ability to provide a high quality interface to a DAW, it also offers simple file transfer or sound processing between workstations.
