Key Features
Don?t let the size of the Driftbox S fool you, it can create powerful and complex sounds with its cross-modulation capabilities and hands-on controls. Each of the two oscillators provides you with a huge 10kHz frequency range. The most unique feature is the built-in Joystick which is used for controlling the cross modulation. The Driftbox S is the perfect tool for noise creation and on the fly sound creation.
The VCF section utilises a 24dB rudder-type low-pass filter for texturizing your created sounds. You can even incorporate white noise via a separate control for maximum versatility.

At the heart of the Reon Driftbox S are two powerful voltage-controlled oscillators. The oscillators provide the means to cross modulate each other, allowing you to create interesting and complex sounds. The two oscillators provide you with an impressive 10kHz bandwidth, which you can dial in with precision using the annotated rotary controls. VCO 1 generates a Saw wave whilst VCO2 can generate both Saw or Square waveforms.
The VCF section is streamlined yet powerful thanks to the inclusion of the 24dB rudder-type low-pass filter. This unique filter was used in a wide range of vintage synths. One of the most unique features of the Driftbox S is the four-axis joystick controller. This controller really gives you a hands-on feel when it comes to your modulation. The joystick can be used to control pitch and modulation depth.
Reon Driftboxes are handcrafted in Osaka, Japan using traditional through-hole components and fully analog circuits. The through-hole design is inspired by classic vintage synths, providing a versatile sound palette that’s reminiscent of the late ‘80s. The sleek yet contemporary-style design employs a robust metal enclosure for maximum durability.
