Key Features
The Doepfer A-137-1 Wave Multiplier I is a powerful way to add extra harmonics to signals. It does this by multiplying a waveform within one period of its signal, ensuring the same pitch, while adding extra colour. This is ideal for signals without a lot of harmonics, such as sine waves and triangle waves.
The A-137-1 has a range of in-depth controls available to further shape your sound. The folding level determines the amount a signal is "reflected" at the clipping line, for example. Each control has a CV input too, allowing you to control this module via external modulation - providing wave-multiplied harmonies that change over time.

Instead of starting with a waveform rich in harmonics and cutting away frequencies with a low pass filter, why not do the opposite? This is the purpose of the Wave Multiplier.
Take a harmonically simple waveform - like a sine wave - and plug it in. This module can then be used to add further harmonics by multiplying the individual cycles of the input. As a result, you get a complex way to shape your modular tones with the option for automation via attenuation.
