Key Features
The Doepfer A-121-2 is a 12 dB per octave multimode filter derived from their Dark Energy III hardware synthesiser. Heavily modulatable, this filter offers three different CV inputs. Two are routed to the filter cutoff frequency, and the second of these has a built-in attenuator to adjust its intensity. The final CV input is routed to the filter's resonance, and also features an attenuator to control its level. Combining these three allows you to create wildly modulated sounds, as well as more traditional filter sweeps.
The A-121-2 also gives plenty of manual control over level, cutoff frequency, and resonance, allowing you to tweak to your heart's content. Shift dials to taste during a track for a performative aspect, or set them where you like and let your modulation handle the rest. With four simultaneous outputs for each filter type, you can send low-pass, high-pass, bandpass, or notch filtered sounds to wherever you need your patch to go next. Whatever you want to achieve, the A-121-2 will let you create it.

Thanks to its three CV inputs and attenuation control, the sound of this filter is anything but standard. Combine different modulations all at once for wild, otherworldly effects that you can only achieve from modular, or go for something traditional and musical. This filter's onboard level control distorts when set beyond 5, allowing you to add subtly saturated harmonics, or heavy distortion, adding additional tonal flexibility. Split, mix, and layer any of the four simultaneous filter outputs for rich textures, the A-121-2 can do it all.
