Product Ref: 182893
The thing that sets the ML:2 apart from conventional clock generator modules is the ability to sync with Ableton Link via your modular setup. From here, you jam with Android/iOS music applications as well as DJ and VJ software. This opens up a new world of experimentation when it comes to sound design, allowing you to incorporate sounds and instruments normally reserved for DAWs via the Missing Link™ series.
Don’t worry if you don’t have any Link devices, the ML:2 can be used as a standalone clock generator module, keeping your sequencers, tempo-synced effects and any other modules synced with a clock input. You can also pair up two or more ML:2 modules via wireless syncing which frees you from the restraints of cable and allows you to wirelessly sync between cases. You can also start/stop each system independently, but in sync on the downbeat.
Another unique feature of the ML:2 is the integrated WiFi connectivity which allows you to jam along with other Ableton Link-enabled devices easier than ever before. You can use the WiFi to join an existing network or create your own private WiFi network directly from the ML:2 module. Avid Pro Tools now provides support for Ableton Live, providing new ways to wirelessly sync Pro Tools and your modular gear.
With two configurable outputs, the ML:2 can generate both triggers and gates in a range of formats. Setting output one to 4 PPQN clock triggers and the second to a Loop Reset trigger will keep your sequencer in time with the rest of your Link devices. The versatile design means you can even create a DIN Sync-style clock.
You can configure the tempo of the clock by using the +/- buttons or using the Tap Tempo button. Each of the outputs can be set to Clock, Loop Reset Trigger or Gate. The faceplate is eye-catching with a gold-style finish, backlit buttons and even a glowing WiFi sign to indicate when it is in use.
