A cornerstone of Rumba and even Flamenco music, the Cajon originated in the 1800's among Peruvian slaves along the coast of their native country. These Peruvian slaves used fruit crates and dresser drawers to tap out a beat. The modern-day Cajon can can be played in the traditional fashion, or it can even be implemented in drum sets, with a pedal or even a pair of pedals replacing the bass drum in the set.
The WHD Cajon by Gear4music proves itself more than capable of fulfilling these uses; an instrument with real snare wires that can be adjusted to suit a variety of timbres and tones. Unlike some Cajons, the WHD comes fitted with rubber feet and a non-slip seating surface, and is supplied with a durable bag for security and ease of transportation.
